Ogilvy & Mather is one of the most important advertising agencies in the world. It was founded in 1948, in New York, by David Ogilvy with the participation of his brother Francis Ogilvy (then president of the agency Mather & Crowther), Anderson Hewitt (then account manager of the agency J. Walter Thompson), British agency SH Benson and the Chinese agency’s US subsidiary Wedgwood. Founded with the name of Hewitt, Ogilvy, Benson & Mather in 1953 become Ogilvy, Benson & Mather, and in 1964 became Ogilvy & Mather. Since 1989 is part of the multinational WPP. Nowadays has about 450 offices around the world.
